Witch’s Brew

CHECKLIST 2 – KINDA

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 10/1/09 12:14 PM

Japan trip confirmed. Now the plans for the trip. I supposed I still have plenty of time for that.

Have started on some crafts.

Chased the coordinator.

Starting on cards this weekend.

Looking at color schemes and stuff.

Progress? For sure. Everything’s under control – in my head.

PANIC ATTACK

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 09/29/09 2:02 PM

A sudden panic rush. My palms couldn’t stop sweating more than usual. My heart felt funny.

I thought I’m still 3 months away. A check on someone’s running blog says the Singapore Marathon is 2 months and 6 days away. Which means my wedding is 2 months and 13 days away.

Sh!t.

After all the calm, panic juz crept up to me quietly like that. How many more things yet undone. Ok plenty, plenty, plenty.

1. Juz sent out email to chase the coordinator at 1827. We need to do food sampling and other stuff. I might want balloons instead of flowers. Not a big fan of flowers.

2. Meet up with the JP to get his autograph signature.

3. Making and completing the invites.

4. Sms-ing friends and other people on the invite list.

5. Start and finish my assortment of crafts.

6. Renovation!

7. Furniture!

8. Air-con/lights/toilet/kitchen shopping.

9. Oh and where’s the photo album?

10. Do I have to meet up with the gals to discuss anything?

11. Wedding day itinerary?

12. Sending out invites.
Number 2, 4 and 9 seemed to be the easiest. Ok number 11 should be pretty alright. But there’s so many more things. I’m starting to want to pull my hairs out now.

Did I mentioned that I’ve put on weight? Blah!

Ok card making starts this weekend. Hopefully things would be smooth and sailingly easy from this weekend onwards.

And I need to lose that weight.

TRIPPING OVER

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 09/16/09 8:54 AM

Plans for our 2nd trip (F&E this time YAY) is on the way. The excitement covers everything else. I wish everything would get on and over with quickly juz so that I can go there again.

Of coz, more money would be involved this time. Where else can I cut down on expanses? Furniture?

OH JOY

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 09/14/09 12:31 PM

For some reason I decided that we should try this other really popular JP before we contact the one Fu’s sis used.

Oh joy, oh joy. He told us to go ahead and efile using his license.

Thank you very much Professor Yu.

NEXT ITEM ON THE LIST

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 09/11/09 1:22 PM

The last I talked about the wedding preparations was venue was confirmed. Well kinda I guess. We haven’t paid anything but it’s confirmed. Does that sound logical? Hmmm…guess so.

Next thing to do, the JP. My coordinator’s JP has retired so she recommended another one who is unable to make it on Sundays. Fu’s sis will give him the contact to the one who solemnized for her.

Now this JP issue, is rather scary actually coz Fu and I will never forget the one we met during Iris’ wedding. She scolded us. The excited big group of us who were giggling and laughing away before the event started. I don’t want someone with a black face who will scold me coz I would stumble over my own words.

Oh and the cards. Maybe next week when Star is back from her trip.

HE KNOWS WHAT’S CRAP

I love this youtube vid on Hilter finding out the plot to Terry Goodkind’s latest book. Ignore it if you’ve never read/heard of him. It makes no sense if you hadn’t – and I’ve no intention of linking to any of his information.

I do and I nearly laugh my head off. I had the first book and I gave it away coz I couldn’t even bear to see it on my bookshelf. It was the only series I couldn’t bring myself to carry on. Trust me on this coz I persevered with Orson Scott Card.

YELLOW RIBBON RUN

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 09/8/09 4:29 PM

Didn’t do too well for my Yellow Ribbon Run. Pace has been very inconsistent lately. I know, I know. Lack of training. Where I used to run 3 times a week now I run once or none. I need to buck up again.

It was a great race though the never ending slopes were a killer. The logistics and stuff all pretty well done. The goodie – goodie or goody? – bag now THAT’s what I call a real goodie bag – you hear me AHM/SCSM????

Fu did well for this run and beat me for the very first time. A full 30 seconds. At this exact moment, he’s looking at what I called the rubbish Nike Human Race.

WAITING FOR CORALINE

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 09/2/09 10:33 PM

Fact of The Day:
Supposed to upload a picture/short story from a very interesting book. Realized my freshly formatted lappy doesn’t have photoshop to crop it. Alas.

If you’ve read the book, you would know why. The video did freaked me out a little. A really interesting promo video. My niece and I are anxiously waiting to see it out in the movies.

Oh and not forgetting, a certain secondary school here is using this book for literature.

NOTABLE CONVERSATIONS 1

Posted by: witchsbrew on: 08/25/09 4:43 PM

The week ended with several highlights including getting drunk and puking from drinks for the very first time in my life, photo selection for our pre wedding photo album.

Of coz, it also ended with what I called notable conversations. Here’s one, Friday night at Hooters.

Me: Asahi Super Dry! YAY! (the only beer I drink by the way)
Ms Zero: But isn’t it very dry?
Me: Erm…yah it’s dry.

Here’s another. The annoying sales person at the bridal shop (ASPBS) when we were choosing our pictures.

ASPBS: Oh the pictures are very nice.
Ignores.
ASPBS: What’s those?
looking at our pre wedding shoots and then filling in the blanks on “those”, things she cldn’t find any word for and answers we wouldn’t give her.
ASPBS: Are they xxxxx? (I couldn’t recall what she said but it was a pretty lame answer)
Ignores.
ASPBS: The bride looks pretty.
Me: Of coz! I’m ALWAYS PRETTY!
ASPBS: It’s good to have confidence.
ASPBS walks away.

Some minutes later to another bride to be at another corner of the shop.
ASPBS: It’s good to have confidence.

To be continued.

YAYYAYAYAYAYAYAYAYAY

YAY look like the letter A holding up 2 sticks.

Anyway, completed AHM. Timing wasn’t fantastic but well expected given condition and the amount of training I have this year. The back is recovering well thanks to those sample salonpas plasters they gave out on Sunday.

Finally decided our venue last night too. After going through 37 quotations, we went back to the very 1st one I received. The coordinator was a very nice and chatty lady and I supposed we feel that we could trust her to do all the nitty gritty.

Time for the cards now.
