Another year, another new album. It’s strange that having a horribly emotionally charged week, here I am reviewing an album but then as always, I’m nit picking Jay’s album bit by bit. I only do that to his albums coz this cheapskate buys only his albums on regular basis and I used to love, love, love him.
Moving away from the genius effect type of songs that I used to adore now I’m getting sappy, soap opera type songs from this guy whom every song was a must listen, I know the lyrics and can sing/rap. The last album was almost dumped out of the window after a couple of listens.
I hate high hopes, coupled with this bad feeling that’s growing huger like a bubble every minute after my purchase. If it’s lousy again, I’m never getting another one. Save my money and spend it on Cake instead.
After listening to parts of the album – while nursing a bad stomach – all I can say is, I think Fei YuQing sings damn well - he showed why he is an evergreen in the duet 千里之外. There were interesting music in the form of song number 9, 迷迭香. Beautiful lyrics all around but I can’t say that I click well with this album.
I’ll take it on a few more spins before I decide. The next time, he might juz be axed out of my shopping list.
Oh and by the way, is he running out of album titles and the duet this time is so much better than the last one.
